Day 17 Challenge: Developing Healthy Habits

Tip: Developing healthy habits helps you to build a foundation of success that will stand the test of time and help you to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Making a decision to improve your habits can be a lonely road.  Ultimately, the decision to improve your health is a personal decision and only you, can make it happen. 

Here are a few additional tips that will help get you on the path to Developing Healthy Habits. 

  1. Take an honest account of the areas of your life that need improvement.  Only you can do this, and it's up to you to look deep inside and be honest with yourself.  This is a necessary first step to developing healthy habits. 
  2. Make a list of changes you would like to make in your life for the better.  Making a list can help keep things fresh in your mind.  Place the list in a area that you visit multiple times a day, like the bathroom mirror or refrigerator door. 
  3. Develop a plan of implementation.  Success doesn't happen by accident.  Developing a plan helps hold you accountable to the goals you have set for yourself. 
  4. Start slow.  Rome wasn't built in a day, and you didn't get yourself where you are today, overnight. Take it easy on yourself and don't to fix everything at the same time. Pick a habit you would like to develop, and practice making it a reality. 
  5. Celebrate small victories. Celebrating small victories is way to keep things fun, while on the path to the final goal. 
  6. Ignore the haters.  As soon as you start making healthy changes in your life, there are bound to be haters. Developing healthy habits can sometimes involve distancing yourself from naysayers and bad influences. 

Don't be too hard on yourself.  No one is perfect.  If you fail while on the path to your fitness goal, try again tomorrow.

Try to get in at least 30-60 mins of continuous physical exercise every day.

    • Biking
    • Stretching
    • Light weight training
    • Swimming
    • Climbing stairs
    • Walking up hills
    • Pushup
    • Sit-up
    • Hiking with pack
    • Rucking in the city with hunting boots on
